Info
In its many incarnations the popular Torrance Hotel has housed a cotton mill, a school, a shop and a coaching inn, but it has always been at the heart of East Kilbride. Its fortunes have largely echoed those of the town it has served for over 200 years and, with the regeneration and rebirth of The Village, a conservation area designed to recapture the spirit of the old East Kilbride, The Torrance has undergone an extensive refurbishment and interior redesign in keeping with its traditions of service. The building retains all its original character and an old granite mounting block bears testament to its past as a stopping point for travellers on the busy coach road to Glasgow. Next door we have incorporated the courtyard area of the old building into the Coach House, a family restaurant and Carvery designed to delight its customers whatever their age.
