The five-star Savoy is one of the most historic and prestigious hotels in London. London's first luxury hotel, it is famous for its opulent glamour and its Edwardian and Art Deco décor. It was completely renovated in 2007. Many famous guests have stayed there, from royalty to film stars. This Grade II listed building has 267 rooms, many of them with views over the River Thames, and there are several suites that include butler service. The Savoy includes spa facilities, including a pool, business services, meeting rooms and banqueting rooms. The hotel's restaurant and bars are world-famous, including the American Bar, the Beaufort Bar and Kaspar's Seafood Bar. Simpson's-in-the-Strand, the historic traditional British restaurant, is also part of the hotel. There are several meeting rooms that can be hired, as well as a Banqueting Hall, the Lancaster Ballroom and the River Room. The hotel has a dedicated wedding planner and team. It is within easy walking distance of many London landmarks, including Covent Garden, the City and the West End theatres.

Location

The Savoy stands on the north Thames Embankment, on the Strand in Westminster. It has two public entrances, a Front Entrance off the Strand and a River Entrance on the Thames side of the building. It is ideally located for visiting the many of attractions of London, some of the closest including Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the South Bank, the London Eye and the London Aquarium. Boat trips on the Thames can be taken from the hotel's private pier.

Room facilities

The Savoy's 267 rooms are all individually designed, with no room the same as another. There are eight personality suites, named after famous people who have stayed in the hotel, including Frank Sinatra and Claude Monet. The most prestigious suite is the Royal Suite on the fifth floor. All suites, and many other rooms, have magnificent views over the Thames. All rooms have Mascioni bed linen, private bars, and individually controlled air conditioning. Six rooms are specially adapted for guests with disabilities, and most public areas are wheelchair accessible.
