Tourist area in Tenerife
Los Cristianos is one of the most touristy areas of Tenerife, it offers everything: whale watching, hiking to Montaña Guaza, or kayaking and seeing dolphins or turtles. It's really worth it.

I don't like Los Cristianos
Tourism for foreigners. I booked in Los Cristianos to have the base for excursions in the southwest of the island, but it's an area that's too touristy for my liking.

The promenade of Los Cristianos
The promenade of Los Cristianos. Many places with a good atmosphere. A pleasant area to walk around.

Whale watching
Whale watching. We went on this tour and it was really fun. The small whales showed themselves, although the dolphins did not, but it was worth it. Then at the end, they make a stop so you can swim in the sea from the boat that takes you. After that, you can stroll around the area, with many stands and terraces to have a drink and enjoy the views. And you also have Las Vistas beach at the back of the port, but... watch out for the waves that form, which seem like mini-tsunamis, as they caught me.

Los Cristianos Beach
Los Cristianos beach wasn't great. You have to continue on the promenade to Vista beach, which is prettier. Several shops and restaurants along the beachfront promenade on both beaches. The Sunday and Tuesday morning market was very large, but prepare to negotiate.

Rural and beach getaway
A rural and beach getaway. Exploring the island from within to the coastline. The emblematic Teide with spectacular lunar landscapes and its coast from the smallest corners like the beach of Diego Hernández, Médano, Faedo, la Caleta, el Duque to that of los Cristianos or las Américas. The natural pools of Garachico, like the butterfly park and the centuries-old Drago of Icod de los Vinos. All wrapped in golden light, bathed by sunsets and very pleasant temperatures at this time of year. For those who want to party in the bustle of Puerto de la Cruz or in Santa Cruz de Tenerife with the color of its carnivals and drag festival. A success for adults and children.

Too much hustle and bustle in Los Cristianos
In Los Cristianos, there was too much hustle and bustle for us, but with the rental car, we were able to escape and find quieter places (and nicer beaches) nearby. We ate twice at the Barca restaurant, and the food the first time (beef fillet in a delicious sauce and grilled tuna) was very good!
