Trip to La Gomera
Trip to La Gomera. The island of La Gomera, in the Canary Islands, is a dream destination for nature lovers and tranquility seekers. My visit to La Gomera during the holidays was an unforgettable experience, where every corner of the island offered unique beauty and serenity. Starting with the Garajonay National Park, one of the island's highlights, I encountered a lush green landscape, covered by an ancient laurel forest. This forest, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a biodiversity haven where I could enjoy well-marked trails that led me through an almost magical environment, enveloped in mist and humidity. The trail network in La Gomera is extensive and offers options for all levels. One of my favorites was the trail leading to Alto de Garajonay, the highest point of the island. From there, the panoramic views of the island and the neighboring Tenerife, El Hierro, and La Palma are spectacular, especially at sunrise or sunset. Besides its impressive nature, La Gomera is rich in culture and traditions. I had the opportunity to visit some of the island's picturesque villages, like Agulo and Hermigua, where typical Canarian architecture and the friendliness of its inhabitants made me feel at home. The Silbo Gomero, a unique whistled language used to communicate over long distances on the island, cannot be overlooked.
Charco Del Conde, . Valle Gran Rey (Isla de La Gomera)
Charco del Conde
The Charco del Conde is very beautiful, this year we were lucky and caught it full for a couple of days and were able to enjoy it.
Patricia De Aguinaga, . Valle Gran Rey (Isla de La Gomera)
Few restaurants open
Few restaurants open. Low season. The only ones in the port area.
Ana, . Agulo (Isla de La Gomera)
San Marcos Festivities
It was just the San Marcos festivities, which allowed us to experience a very special moment for the town.
Juan Carlos, . San Sebastián de la Gomera (Isla de La Gomera)
Good gastronomic experience
We ate at several restaurants in the area, and the price-quality ratio was good. As we were only there for work, we couldn't enjoy cultural spaces, just take a walk through the capital, San Sebastián de la Gomera, a very quiet and pleasant place, with the sea very close.
Josefa, . Isla de La Gomera (Cabildo insular) (Santa Cruz de Tenerife)
A quiet and clean island
A quiet and very clean island, its people are kind and polite, the gastronomy very varied and exquisite, one must always return to enjoy its wonderful landscapes on such a small island.
