Ciutadella

Introducing the wonderful town of Ciutadella located on the western shore of Menorca, one of the two main cities on this island. Established by the Carthaginians around the 4th century, this town has lived under the rule of several leaders and became an important trading hub during the Middle Ages. Although this city is no longer the capital of Menorca, it remains the religious centre as the Bishop wished to remain here. The island of Menorca enjoys a very warm climate and between the months of June and September, temperatures can reach the high twenties. The festival of Saint John, the patron saint of Ciutadella, occurs annually on the 23rd and 24th of June.
