Fuengirola
Fuengirola has long been one of the most popular tourist resorts on the Costa del Sol. It lies on the coast approximately 25km west of Malaga airport, so is easily accessible by air as well as by car on the coastal A7 route. The town used to be a small fishing village and dates to Roman times but visitors today will find their hotels in Fuengirola nestling in a vibrant, cosmopolitan resort. The main square of Plaza de la Constitución has been upgraded and is delightful at any time of year but it is particularly exciting during the Fuengirola summer feria and during the Christmas festivities. From here you can explore the narrow winding streets leading away from the square, where you will find traditional apartments in Fuengirola with lots of character. You can also find a hotel in Fuengirola old town with an authentic Andalusian atmosphere. Whatever your preference, you will not be stuck for choice. There is everything from modern hotel and apartment complexes to more traditional establishments.
Enjoy one of the most lively resorts on the Costa del Sol, Fuengirola has something for everyone. Luxurious penthouse apartments feature the best of contemporary design while purpose-built hotel complexes offer every amenity. For a smaller budget, the visitor can easily book a more modest hotel or choose from many reasonable apartment deals. There is much to do too. Fuengirola has one of the most lively nightlife scenes on the Costa del Sol. Most clubs and music bars are clustered around the town centre, so it is ideal for bar hopping but can make hotels and apartments here a bit lively too! When it's time to unwind, Fuengirola also has one of the best beaches on the Costa del Sol. It runs for five kilometres from Sohail Castle to Torreblanca. The beaches have excellent amenities, with lots of sunbeds and parasols to rent and plenty of beach bars and cafés. There are also lots of front-line hotels and apartments to choose from. For a more cultural experience, Sohail Castle is a renovated Moorish fortification and hosts many concerts and festivals.
What to see or do in and around Fuengirola

Great for shopping or sitting in one of the many cafes
Fuengirola is a busy town with lots to do and see. There are many restaurants and cafes. My caution would be if you are using the bus and to be mindful of pick-pockets around the bus station. You can't always spot them as they mingle amongst the many people waiting on buses. It's a very busy bus station. The port is lovely and hidden down there are several really good bars/restaurants, most of them British or Irish.

Shopping, nightlife, beach and culture
Mid-sized city with old and new buildings, lots of shopping opportunities, restaurants, and cultural sites. The climate is absolutely fantastic! Whether you choose the beach or the town, all your expectations of a great holiday will be met! I highly recommend Fuengirola and will go there again... and again!
