Cádiz
The city of Cádiz is the ideal destination for lovers of history and culture alike. With dozens of hotels in Cádiz able to cater for all tastes and budgets, it's easy to find the perfect place to stay in order to make the most of your time there. From great-value hostels to historic boutique establishments to luxury spa hotels with a huge range of treatments on offer, the city has something for everyone.
During the summer, choose one of the many beach-front hotels in Cádiz, so you never have to travel too far in order to top up your tan. Or, if you prefer, choose a hotel located near one of the many beautiful plazas that are common throughout Cádiz. For longer stays, it is also possible to rent an apartment in Cádiz which can easily become your home away from home, allowing you to experience far more of the local lifestyle than you would while simply staying in a hotel.
Founded more than 3,000 years ago, Cádiz is believed to be the oldest city in all of Western Europe. A key port and the chief station for the Spanish navy, many great sea battles have been fought off the coast of Cádiz, including Nelson's victory in the Battle of Trafalgar.
Cádiz is home to the oldest carnival in Spain which takes place each February. A hugely popular event, which makes it important to book your hotel well in advance if you plan to visit during this time of year. Other must-see attractions in Cádiz include the old town where you can still see the forts and massive stone walls built to protect the city from attacks by pirates. A spectacular view of the entire city can be gained by climbing to the top of the tower of the main cathedral in the old town.
Although Cádiz is fairly small and the old town in particular is easy to negotiate on foot, choose the location of your hotel with care so that you minimise the amount of travelling you have to do during the day.

Cádiz (Cádiz)
A memorable intriguing place to visit.
Best dining experience. La Candela.Quirky atmospheric restaurant 300 metres from the hotel. Great marked walking routes. Friendly helpful people. Great train service into the city. You can walk everywhere. The city moves at a slow pace. Loved the experience. Have been to Seville and Cordoba, which I also loved but Cadiz has its own unique personality.
