Moscow

Moscow is the capital city of Russia with a population of more than 11 million inhabitants. Russian is the spoken language in Moscow. It was also the capital of the now fallen United Socialist Soviet Republic. Russia was for a long time a superpower alongside the United States. The city is located by the River Moskva where its name is derived from. Moscow is home to many scientific research centres, including space science. It is also emerging as a business hub with industries in the food, software technology, furniture, chemical and energy sectors. Moscow is littered with ancient buildings and impressive architecture, which are World Heritage Sites and tourist attractions. The public transport sector is highly developed with numerous train and bus connections all over the city as well as four airports. The best time to visit the city is in the summer months of June to August when the weather is warm. Moscow also boasts a vibrant entertainment and arts scene.
