Lisbon is a gem that truly exceeded my expectations. The city comes alive at night, offering a unique and vibrant atmosphere that's both safe and budget-friendly. It's the perfect combination for anyone visiting a new country. One of the things that pleasantly surprised me was how widely English is spoken in Lisbon. It made communication a breeze and added to the overall convenience of my trip. Near my hotel, there were charming restaurants that stayed open until 3 AM. It was an incredible experience to enjoy delicious Portuguese cuisine late into the night, adding a delightful touch to my stay.

I recommend the Gondola lift cable car, it was an amazing experience as we got to see Lisbon City from a sky view. The 3D Art Museum is another great family activity to do with family.

    Gorgeous.

I want to come here over and over. I could ice skate on the smooth streets and scooter here forever.

The city between Hill and Sea

The capital city of Portugal has a lot of things to do and very different one from each other, from the castle to the Manuelino art style palace, from the narrow Street of the Barrio Alto to the futuristic Parco dos Nacoes. For sure, you will find your way in this colourful city!!

    Worth a longer stay

Lisbon exceeded our expectations, although it took us a couple of days for the city to grow on us, as we were coming from Porto and were overwhelmed by the traffic and the heat. But after walking its streets it started to unfold its beauty, with history, art and music waiting around every corner. We especially enjoyed the beautiful view from the Castle, riding the old tram through the narrow streets and enjoying a Pastel de Nata in Belém - where you should also visit the monastery with its wonderfully sculptured inner yard. I can only recommend walking as much as possible and letting yourself get lost in the streets of Lisboa, but public transportation is also very good, so that is definitely always an option in case your legs get tired. There are also lots of day-trips that you can take from Lisbon: to Cascais (a must-see is Praya do Guincho with its wild waves), to Fatima, to Sintra etc.

Why to go to the other places when you can go to Lisboa

Lisboa is very easy to get to from the airport thanks to the metro/underground ending at the airport. Lisboa has it all - beautiful old town, long and various seafront, many good restaurants, big number of monuments, attractions, things to do, great atmosphere. It's colourful and fun, tuk-tuks or vintage trams take you where you will and people are friendly and helpful.
