This property is in the village of Pedralva, on the west coast of the Algarve in southern Portugal. It is part of the district of Vila do Bispo and is on the outskirts of the district, before Carrapateira. Guests will find the nearest restaurants and bars a couple of paces away and links to the public transport network are about 1 km from the property. The village of Pedralva is located in a beautiful valley, 4 km away from the excellent beaches of Amado and Bordeira. The Museum of the Sea at Carrapateira is a 5 km journey away and it is some 10 km to the centre of Vila do Bispo, 16 km from Sagres and 18 km from Topas, with its nightspots, tourist centre and sights, such as Aljezurs Church of Our Lady, the Fortress of Sagres and Aljezur Castle. Cape St. Vincent is roughly 20 km away and it is around 30 km to Lagos, with its railway and bus stations. It is approximately 120 km west of Faro International Airport.

The traditional country houses come with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms and feature rustic decoration including restored wood furniture from local old houses. All rooms come with an en suite bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer and include towels, shower gel, shampoo and soap. They offer a double bed or twin bed including a bunk bed in the family rooms. The houses have a living room, a fully equipped kitchenette with a fridge, a cooker, a microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. Furthermore, individually regulated heating is provided in all accommodation as standard.

Un lugar muy bonito. Las casas y el entorno están muy cuidados. En la aldea reina el silencio, por lo que es muy agradable para descansar. Aviso a navegantes (y nunca mejor dicho), no hay cobertura teléfonica ni de datos. Tampoco televisión. Es un lugar que te permite desconectar de todo.

Positiv anzumerken ist, dass das dorf und die einzelnen häuser schön renoviert sind. Als wanderetappe war für mich auch die gut funktionierende dusche wichtig. Das war das positive. Negatives überwiegt bei weitem: im januar ist das angeblich wiederbelebte örtchen tot. Restaurant, pizzeria, bar geschlossen. Abends gibt es das nächste bier oder eine mahlzeit in 8 km entfernung. Da stimmt das konzept nicht, einem dorf leben einzuhauchen. Ich habe auf dem ehemaligen dorfplatz in 3 stunden einen passanten getroffen. Eine ferienhaussiedlung für den sommer. Wifi wird beworben, das gibt es aber nur im bereich der verwaisten rezeption. In den häusern keinerlei empfang. Mobiltelefon ebenfalls im gesamten bereich kein netz (vodafone und orange mit partnern). Kaffee am morgen erst ab 9, da war ich schon einige kilometer weitergewandert. Das tal in richtung norden war sicher einmal schön. Nun aber ist es eine ansammlung von containern, hütten und wohnmobilen und erinnert kilometerlang an einen aufgepumpten schrebergarten. Ich habe selten so viele privado schilder gesehen. Neue deutsch-niederländische spiessigkeit. Die preise sind für januar mit 50-70 euro völlig überzogen. Ich war froh als ich wieder weg war. Eine enttäuschung.
