Montpellier
Situated in the south of France in the beautiful Languedoc-Roussillon region, Montpellier is a gorgeous town with plenty to do. The town is full of history, and visitors can explore attractions like the fascinating artworks of the Musee Fabre, the wonderful Cathedral of St Pierre and the elegant Porte du Peyrou, with its lovely gardens and views over the city. More modern attractions abound as well, with the city zoo (which is free of charge), and a fantastic aquarium. For more active holidaymakers, Montpellier has the many sporting attractions of the Domaine de Grammont, where visitors can enjoy horse riding, tennis and kart racing, while the excellent Grande Motte golf course is nearby. Hiking into the countryside of Languedoc-Roussillon also provides a real treat, with the peak of the Pic St-Loup providing extraordinary views of the region.
Being in a tourist region like Languedoc-Roussillon, Montpellier has a hotel or apartment for anyone's needs. For families, the Pullman Montpellier Antigone is a particularly good option, with its large pool area, friendly staff and spectacular rooftop terrace restaurant. Another fine hotel, with a slightly more central location is Le Mistral, located 5 minutes walk from the city centre and with spacious rooms, making it ideal for anyone looking to enjoy the culinary and cultural attractions of the town. For a slightly different experience, the suburban Propriete Toutoune offers cottages to rent that provide some more seclusion. But for those seeking total privacy, a rental apartment might be a good idea. An apartment in the centre of town can be rented very reasonably, with underground parking and internet access, making it a great idea for business travellers or families wanting to escape hotel crowds.
Montpellier is a relaxed and charming city. Head over in summer for the full range of attractions, and use your hotel or apartment as a base to explore Languedoc-Roussillon. The coast is a short drive away, as is the marvellous Camargue region of wetlands and secluded beaches, where you can rent a bike and explore the beautiful scenery. But whenever or however you travel, Montpelier has much to offer.

Visit to Montpellier and Suggestion
Montpellier is a beautiful city and even though we were passing through, we visited the Christmas market which we really liked. The atmosphere was very nice and the city's nightlife was also enjoyable. We've been traveling with you for years and never won anything, could you please publish the winners?

Visit to the Christmas Market
We were passing through, we had already been to Montpellier, but we took the opportunity to visit the Christmas market. We loved it, it is not among the best in Europe, but we liked it a lot. There was everything, even a bar with dancing, the little houses were very well placed and a great atmosphere. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and of course, the mulled wine, a tradition in Europe.

Transfer to Montpellier
Daughter's transfer for ERASMUS. We went to Montpellier to accompany my daughter for a university study abroad period. We took the opportunity to tour the city and found it very nice! Beyond expectations: very characteristic historic center with historical and modern environments masterfully juxtaposed. We will definitely return to stay longer.

Easy to tour in one day.
Easy to tour in one day. Montpellier has a very pleasant historic center with several attractive points to visit easily, starting the tour at Place Comédie. At the tourist office in that square, they give you a map with the main points of interest. We toured it on a Sunday and everything was quite dead, but the next day we saw the streets more lively, shops open, etc., although you have to consider the French hours (closing around 19-19:30). Curious to see the Antigone neighborhood. In the vicinity, you can visit Sète (with many restaurants to eat fish and seafood) and also Aigues-Mortes, a walled village that surprised us a lot. Transport in Montpellier works very well with buses and several tram lines.

Surprised
Surprised. The truth is that Montpellier pleasantly surprised us, we didn't feel insecure, the hotel's location was quite central, and we were able to walk around and enjoy the food and monuments without any problems. It was also easy to park in a paid area near the hotel.
