What to see or do in and around Paris

    It's Paris baby!

What's not to love of Paris! Going on December might not be our first choice due to cold weather, but on the upper side you don't need to wait in long queues to visit museums and tourist sites are not crowded. You get to go to restaurants without having to reserve days ahead. But yes, its very chilly and windy so prepare yourself. I ride Velib bikes all over the place but I was wearing a nice jacket, pair of gloves and over all, a good warm scarf. Metro and subway lines are warm if you need to travel a bit longer. And I would also say that Parisians are more friendly were they find less tourists invading the place.

Pass. du Grand Cerf & Cloud Cakes

I visited Pass. du Grand Cerf because it's one of the filming locations for Zazie dans le Métro(1960), directed by Louis Malle. It was a truly beautiful arcade from the ceiling to the floor. I found a lovely antique shop there and a glasses shop looked interesting. I also went to Cloud Cakes, cute and cozy vegan bakery, so close to Pass. du Grand Cerf. They sell some breads, cookies, cupcakes, macarons and cakes. I didn't have time at that time, so actually I bought just one croissant for take away. it was super delicious anyway. I should try other sweets and latte next time. Since I visited in the evening, some of sweets were sold out, so you should go there early. They have another brunch near Théâtre Saint-Georges. Highly recommend!

Gare du Nord station, cafe in Montmartre, Montmartre Basilica

In our 24 hours in Paris, we visited the Eiffel Tour, had a pizza and wine dinner and slept in a hotel in Montmartre. In the evening, we took a taxi from the Eiffel Tour to Montmartre. The Uber service works in Paris, but the pricing is expensive and finding the right meeting place can be difficult. After walking from Montmartre to the Gare du Nord in the morning, we took the train to London. The Montmartre Basilica was gorgeous, and we rode a little train around the block on our way there - well worth the ride! We ate in one of the many charming cafes in Montmartre (salmon with garnet apple seeds, rice with salmon bullion, and onion soup in a charming entourage, but it wasn't to our taste). We like small bakeries with a variety of delicious buns and pastries, which are plentiful in the city. There were terrible queues for the London train, but we were so happy with our day in Paris, so we didn't mind.

    Weekend in Paris

Perfect City for a Weekend. We visited all the classic sites and had a lot of nice restaurants experience. A small gem in the Montmartre-area that should not be missed is a small place called Le Piano Perché. Super nice staff and wonderful food.

    Europe Trip

The weather was great, the crowds & strike action not so much. Plenty to see and do, unfortunately these days you have to book to see the main sites... gone are the days of turning up and buying a ticket.... now you have to plan everything about your holiday just so you can cover the activities you want to do
