What to see or do in and around Bulgaria

  • Culture and diversity in Sofia

Sofia is one of the cities with the most culture, on all levels, that I know. There's a kind of "Broadway" with a bunch of theaters offering all sorts of shows. There are plenty of art galleries, museums, in addition to the imposing National Palace of Culture, which, besides performance halls, houses various book-selling stands on its 13 floors. For those who love reading, love art, and especially who can read in Bulgarian, it's paradise! Moreover, the city is an open-air museum. Especially in the central areas, where, due to the excavations for the metro construction, dozens of Roman ruins were discovered, already in this century, which now take prominent places in the city's landscapes. But of all I've seen so far, what I found most interesting was the so-called "Square or Quad of Tolerance." In this area, there are four temples of four different religions: the Catholic church of St. George (Sveti Geori); the Orthodox cathedral Sveta Nedelya, the Banya Bashi mosque, and the Sofia Synagogue.

  • Varna is a lovely city

Varna is a lovely city, with various activities to do: visiting museums, shopping, walking in pedestrian streets, by the sea or in the big park between the city and the sea. There are very nice restaurants and bars by the sea! A perfect holiday destination.

City with great restaurants and bars. Nice park with bike path and long, beautiful beach. Smiling and very kind people. I recommend a trip to Bulgaria.

  • Central hotel

The hotel is very central, there are many shopping options around and the beach is 100 m from the hotel, everything is very accessible on foot.

  • Good service. The rooms are very spacious. Breakfast should be improved, and more parking spaces are needed. Worth staying.

  • Sofia, a city to discover

Sofia is a city where you can walk peacefully. In the city center, you can find its attractions very close to each other. The Russian Church of St. Nicholas is a few steps from the Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the Opera Theater, the Vitosha Boulevard, the most crowded area of the city, where there are restaurants, shops. Following this walk, you will find the Palace of Justice, the Presidential Palace, the Council of Ministers. In this area and a few meters away are the Synagogue, the Banya Mosque, the beautiful Sveta Nedelya Cathedral. In this area is the open-air museum of ancient Roman Sofia, Serdica. To understand the communist past, it is worth visiting the Red Apartment, a museum. There are good restaurants with traditional food. Outside the city, you will find the beautiful Rila Monastery and the Boyana Church.
