Antalya
Located on the southern coast of Turkey, Antalya is a great destination for those seeking a tan, but it also caters for lovers of culture, food and history. With a past that stretches back millennia, there are rich archaeological remains around the area. A visit to the Greek and Roman ruins at Termessos and Hierapolis is particularly rewarding, as is a daytrip to the sprawling site at Perge, while in Antalya itself there's a great historical museum. Aside from history, Antalya boasts a fine golf course, the stunning Duden waterfalls and the harbour area, where great seafood restaurants abound and tourists can arrange fishing trips with local captains. For the kids, Antalya offers attractions like the Mini City - with models of Turkish landmarks, as well as the thrills and spills of the enormous Dedyma water park. For adults, the countryside around Antalya also offers many thrills, with white water rafting in the Koprulu Canyon National Park and beautiful hiking country along the Lycian Way. For those travelling in winter (and the sunshine can still be very warm), there are even peaks near Antalya such as Sakilikent which offer skiing for intrepid visitors.
Recent years has seen the tourist market really expand in Antalya, and there are more and more hotels each year, making it important to pick the right one. There is also great variety. Traditional resort hotel complexes like Barut Lara offer seafront locations, pools, gym and spa facility, and the Royal Wings resort has a strong reputation for service, being popular with visiting families. Then again, visitors can stay at a city centre hotel, like the White Garden hotel, near to the marina and the city's cultural highlights. For others, a self-catering apartment in Antalya or a resort nearby would make sense. There are some superb apartment properties in the resort town of Kalkan, with hillside sea views to savour, while an apartment in Antalya itself provides access to all of the sights.
Antalya offers a rich blend of a large city, historical sites and all of the fun of the beach. The coast around Antalya is wonderful for sunseekers, with superb beaches near resort hotels like Konyaalti or Lara. Cleopatra beach is a particular favourite with water sports fans, although activities can be found along the coast. For a family holiday combining great food, accommodation and activities, it is hard to better a hotel stay or apartment in Antalya.

Perfect for families with young kids
I use Antalya as a stopover to go to my home country. But I love the place and think that it's great for families with kids, although facilities are very often outdated.

Nice
Nice time. Locals are generally welcoming. Expensive. Euros are preferred everywhere now.

Unforgettable Antalya holiday!
Land of Legends Theme Park: If you're a fan of adventure and excitement, this place is a must-visit. Roller coasters, water slides, and even a dolphinarium, it's a paradise for thrill-seekers and families alike. Aspendos Ancient Theatre: This ancient Roman theatre took me back in time. The architecture is awe-inspiring, and it's still used for performances today. Don't miss the chance to catch a show here. Kursunlu Waterfall: A natural gem near Belek. The lush greenery and the refreshing waterfall are a breath of fresh air. A great escape from the bustling city. Delicious Turkish Cuisine: You can't visit Antalya without indulging in the local cuisine. Don't miss out on trying kebabs, baklava, and the incredible Turkish tea.

Choose a good hotel
There's not much to do in Lara, Antalya with small kids. We went to Land of Legends with the boys - the best part was them getting the Argentina T-shirt (which we could have got at any other Adidas store, really). We also went to ForFun, GoKart, and spent most of our time at Bazars in Lara, and shopping malls in Antalya. My recommendation for families travelling with kids would be to choose a hotel with heated pool and beach access. If you plan to travel around, rent a car and don't buy SIM card at the airport as it was more expensive than e-sim.

Holidays in the beautiful Antalya! We will definitely return!
We flew for the New Year holidays to the Aska Lara Hotel in Antalya from Mersin. 2 families with schoolchildren. We visited the Land of Legend theme park in 6 days and visit the Antalya aquarium, waterfalls, old town, cable car and much more. Antalya is a modern dynamically developing city, surrounded by mountains and immersed in greenery and sun. Neatly trimmed lawns, beautiful flower beds and flower arrangements, as well as sprawling palm trees and trees. The aquarium is an interesting place, considered one of the largest, really very beautiful and educational, especially for children. By car, we also got to the old town of Kaleich, there is definitely something to see there. Narrow streets, a peculiar atmosphere, markets, as well as a beautiful port. From the port you can go on excursions by ship wherever you like, but we didnt go, as we were already very tired and the time was approaching in the evening. Antalya is a resort where you can combine shopping, sea, gastronomic and sightseeing holidays, both independent and packaged. And sweet juicy fruits, sea air, Turkish sweets and oriental flavor will leave a pleasant impression.

A vibrant, busy coastal town with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. The hill top location provides stunning views out to sea and of the distant mountains. It offers plenty of parkland and green spaces and there are plenty of activities to participate in for those wanting an action packed holiday.
